IT’S CLARK VS ZOD IN THE SEASON FINALE – Zod (Callum Blue) unleashes his army upon the world, forcing Chloe (Allison Mack) to call in reinforcements from old friends. Zod tells Lois (Erica Durance) he is The Blur and asks her to steal the Book of Rao from Clark (Tom Welling). Torn between Clark and The Blur, Lois asks Clark to come clean with her about everything but he refuses. Chloe (Allison Mack) and Oliver (Justin Hartley) attempt to reconnect Watchtower’s satellite system in order to fight the Kandorians but to Chloe’s horror, Oliver gets caught on site and disappears. Tess attempts to stop Zod but he leaves her clinging to life. Clark and Zod battle for control of Earth.

CHLOE AND TESS ARE TRAPPED INSIDE WATCHTOWER — Tess (Cassidy Freeman) breaks into Watchtower, triggering an elaborate security system that Chloe (Allison Mack) installed, ultimately trapping the two women inside. Chloe realizes that The Kandorians are downloading information about from the Watchtower server, which prompts her to make a drastic move. Oliver (Justin Hartley) confronts Zod (Callum Blue) and winds up clinging to life with a “Z” scorched into his chest. Clark (Tom Welling) realizes Zod has given his soldiers super powers.

BRIAN AUSTIN GREEN RETURNS AS METALLO AND CLARK IS INFECTED WITH RED KRYPTONITE — Zod (Callum Blue) continues to pose as “The Blur” and asks Lois (Erica Durance) to investigate one of Tess’ (Cassidy Freeman) secret labs…. An explosion rocks the lab, and Lois is rescued by John Corben (guest star Brian Austin Green) who was a subject of multiple experiments. While investigating the explosion, Clark (Tom Welling) is exposed to red kryptonite. And infected Clark takes Zod to the Fortress. Tess turns to Chloe (Allison Mack) for help and they send in Corben to stop Clark from revealing all his secrets.

FATE FROM THE JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA MEET UP WITH CLARK AND HIS TEAM IN A SPECIAL TWO-HOUR EVENT; PAM GRIER GUEST STARS — A man named Sylvester Pemberton tracks down Chloe (Allison Mack) and tells her he knows about her team of superheroes and needs their help. However, before he can explain who he is, he is attacked and killed by Icicle (guest star Wesley Macinnes). Clark (Tom Welling) and Chloe’s (Allison Mack) investigation leads Clark to the former headquarters of the Justice Society of America where he meets up with Nelson AKA Dr. Fate (guest star Brent Stait), Carter Hall AKA Hawkman (guest star Michael Shanks) and Courtney AKA Star Girl (guest star Britt Irvin). Courtney pleads with Hawkman and Dr. Fate to help her catch the killer that is targeting their group but they are reluctant to resume their duties as superheroes. BACK TO THE FUTURE — Tess (Cassidy Freeman) kidnaps Lois (Erica Durance) to find out where Lois went after she disappeared for weeks. Lois’s memory of the future depicts a Metropolis under Zod’s (Callum Blue) rule and Clark (Tom Welling) powerless under the red sun, while Chloe (Allison Mack) forms a resistance group with Oliver (Justin Hartley). After learning of these future events, Clark makes an important decision about Zod.

DC COMICS’ CHARACTER ROULETTE SHOWS OLIVER HER CARDS — Oliver (Justin Hartley) is drugged and kidnapped by a woman named Victoria AKA Roulette (guest star Steph Song), who tells Oliver that he’s involved in a dangerous game and must fight for his life. After Victoria shows up dead and Oliver is arrested by the police, he turns to Chloe (Allison Mack) for help. Meanwhile, Lois (Erica Durance) berates Clark (Tom Welling) for not telling her about Oliver’s suicide attempt.

ZOD UNLEASHES A VIRUS INTO METROPOLIS – Zod (Callum Blue) and his soldiers release a virus into the air that turns humans into zombies. The only way to stop it is to make an antidote from the blood of another Kryptonian. After Lois (Erica Durance) is infected, Chloe (Allison Mack) pleads with Clark (Tom Welling) to donate his blood to stop the epidemic, even though it risks outing him to Zod.

BRIAN AUSTIN GREEN (“TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES”) GUEST STARS AS JOHN CORBEN – Clark (Tom Welling) tells Jor-El he¹s ready to start his training, but Jor-El sends him back to Metropolis to cut ties with Lois before he can begin. Chloe (Allison Mack) is shocked when Lois (Erica Durance) suddenly reappears after having been missing for weeks, but Lois has no recollection of vanishing into thin air with the Legion ring. While investigating a monorail crash, Lois meets John Corben (guest star Brian Austin Green), a new reporter at The Daily Planet, with a negative attitude toward the Red-Blue Blur. Chloe begs Clark to use the Legion ring to go back in time to save Jimmy, but he refuses, driving a wedge into their friendship. Meanwhile, Oliver (Justin Hartley) continues down a dark road, and Zod (Callum Blue) arrives at the Luthor mansion.

CLARK AND DOOMSDAY FACE OFF — Oliver (Justin Hartley) tells Clark (Tom Welling) he must kill Davis (Sam Witwer), as Doomsday is a serious threat and must be stopped at all costs. However, Clark struggles with taking a human life, so the Green Arrow and his team decide to take matters into their own hands. Lois (Erica Durance) takes on Tess (Cassidy Freeman), but the fight takes a shocking turn. Meanwhile, Chloe (Allison Mack) gets caught in the middle of Oliver and Clark’s battle over killing Davis.

DAVIS ASKS CHLOE TO LEAVE TOWN WITH HIM — Clark (Tom Welling) discovers that Davis (Sam Witwer) is still alive and confronts Chloe (Allison Mack) about protecting him. Oliver (Justin Hartley) discovers Jimmy (Aaron Ashmore) breaking into Chloe’s apartment, but things get rapidly worse after Davis jumps from the shadows and attacks both of them.

However, after he escapes, she realizes she needs help to destroy him and turns to Clark (Tom Welling). Tess reveals Davis’ secret childhood with the Luthors and hints that she knows Clark’s true identity. Meanwhile, Davis runs to Chloe (Allison Mack) for help.

TESS SETS A TRAP FOR CLARK — Tess (Cassidy Freeman) invites Clark (Tom Welling) to a press conference in New York, but, when an explosion rocks the private jet they are on, Clark must figure out how to save them without Tess learning his secret. Unbeknownst to Clark, Tess orchestrated the explosion to get Clark to reveal his powers. Meanwhile, Davis (Sam Witwer) discovers a surprising way to control the monster within.

SMALLVILLE BRINGS IN ANOTHER DC VILLIAN — An explosion at LuthorCorp kills all the Board members and injures Oliver (Justin Hartley), who was there to announce the merger of his company with LutherCorp. Oliver believes that Lex is responsible for the blast, but Clark (Tom Welling) and Lana (Kristin Kreuk) learn that the bomber is Winslow Schott (guest star Chris Gauthier), a toymaker and former Queen Industries employee with a grudge against Oliver.

JOHN JONES IS SHOT — Clark (Tom Welling) discovers John Jones (guest star Phil Morris) was shot while working as a police officer, so Clark dons the uniform and goes undercover to find the culprit. Meanwhile, Lana (Kristin Kreuk) confronts Tess (Cassidy Freeman) and tells her Lex isn’t the man she thinks he is. Lana’s shocking news forces Tess to reevaluate her position as the head of Luthorcorp.

IT’S CHLOE AND JIMMY’S DREAM WEDDING DAY BUT TWO UNEXPECTED GUESTS CRASH THE PARTY — It’s Chloe (Allison Mack) and Jimmy’s (Aaron Ashmore) wedding day and the two prepare to walk down the aisle at the Kent farm. Meanwhile, Oliver (Justin Hartley) tells Clark (Tom Welling) he thinks he’s discovered where Lex is hiding and takes off to Cuba to confront him. However, when he arrives, Oliver is shocked to find Lana (Kristin Kreuk) instead. Clark and Lois (Erica Durance) grow closer but chaos ensues when Doomsday crashes the wedding and tries to kidnap Chloe.

KARA RETURNS — Clark (Tom Welling) receives an anonymous package containing the crystal that Tess (Cassidy Freeman) found in the Arctic. When he removes the crystal, it activates and sends him and a visiting Lois (Erica Durance) to the Phantom Zone where they run into Kara (guest star Laura Vandervoort). Kara opens a portal for Lois to return but Zod’s wife Faora escapes with her and takes over Lois’ body. A possessed Lois goes on a rampage in Metropolis.

DAVIS STARTS TO SEE HIS DARK SIDE — Clark (Tom Welling) looks into a recent attack in a theater that may be the work of a serial killer. Suspecting it could be someone who is meteor-infected, he demands that Chloe (Allison Mack) release the names of the people she is counseling at the Isis Foundation, which causes a rift between the friends. Davis (Sam Witwer) fears that his blackouts could mean that he is the serial killer and collects evidence that may implicate him. Fearing the worst, he confesses his suspicions to Chloe.

DC COMICS CHARACTER MAXIMA SETS HER SIGHTS ON CLARK — Tess (Cassidy Freeman) and her team perform tests on Clark’s (Tom Welling) crystal that she had retrieved from the arctic, causing it to send a beam of light into the universe. This triggers the arrival of Maxima (guest star Charlotte Sullivan), a queen from the planet Almerac, who is searching for her soulmate, who she believes sent the signal. Unfortunately, Maxima’s power is too great for mortal men and her kiss kills them. The seductive Maxima arrives in Metropolis and begins her search, starting with Jimmy (Aaron Ashmore).

DC COMICS CHARACTER PLASTIQUE BLASTS INTO METROPOLIS; DAVIS BLOOME ARRIVES IN SMALLVILLE — It’s Clark’s (Tom Welling) first day at the Daily Planet with Lois (Erica Durance), and the pair are immediately thrown together on a story when a bus explodes outside the office. Clark rescues Bette (guest star Jessica Parker Kennedy), a young girl who bonds with Chloe (Allison Mack) over their shared meteor abilities, but Bette is hiding a big secret. Paramedic Davis Bloom (Sam Witwer) arrives in Metropolis and is drawn to Chloe.

LEX DISCOVERS CLARK’S SECRET – Kara tells Lex he is destined to defeat the Traveler and offers to take him to the Fortress to learn how. Clark is stunned that Kara would go to Lex but it is revealed that Brainiac is impersonating Kara and she’s actually trapped in the Phantom Zone. Chloe is arrested by the Department of Domestic Security and Lana awakens from her comatose state. Meanwhile, in an epic turn of events, Clark and Lex face off in the Fortress and Lex learns Clark’s secret.

CLARK SEES WHAT LIFE WOULD BE LIKE IF HE HAD NEVER ARRIVED ON EARTH; TOM WELLING DIRECTS – Clark discovers that Kara sent messages from Krypton in the past that indicate that Brainiac wants to kill Baby Kal-El so Clark will not exist in the future. Clark is torn because he thinks the world would be better off if he had never arrived in Smallville. Jor-El arranges for him to see what life would have been like if Clark hadn’t existed – Lex is President of the United States, Kara is raised by the Luthors, Jonathan is alive, Lana is happily married and Chloe and Lois are ace reporters.

THE DAY CLARK AND LEX BECAME MORTAL ENEMIES – The secret of Veritas leads Lex in a dangerous direction that will put Clark and Lex in each others’ crosshairs. There is a major power struggle and one character dies.

LIONEL KIDNAPS CLARK – Lionel arranges to have Clark kidnapped and held in a kryptonite-lined cell at a Luthorcorp facility. After Chloe and Lana find a military electric probe at the farm, they confront Lionel, who throws suspicion onto Lex. Chloe and Lana take Kara to the Fortress and beg Jor-El to restore her memory as she is the only one who can save Clark.

LEX FINDS KARA AND GETS SHOT WHILE TRYING TO TAKE HER HOME – Lois follows Lex to Detroit and discovers he has found Kara, who has amnesia. Finley, a busboy who is obsessed with Kara, fears Lex will take her away, so he shoots Lex and holds Kara and Lois captive. After Lex’s comatose body is found, Chloe offers to heal him, but Clark refuses to let her.

BIZARRO TAKES OVER CLARK’S LIFE AND TRACKS DOWN BRAINIAC – While Clark is frozen in the Fortress, Bizarro takes over his life with Lana. Unaware she is with Bizarro, Lana enjoys the “new Clark” and shares information she’s gathered on a serial killer who is draining his victims of all trace minerals. The two conclude it must be Brainiac and Bizarro sets off to find him. Lex is stunned at Lionel’s reaction after Grant reveals he is a clone of Julian.

HELEN SLATER RETURNS AS LARA-EL; CLARK MEETS HIS BIOLOGICAL MOTHER FOR THE FIRST TIME – Clark hears the voice of his biological mother, Lara, calling for help from Kara’s crystal and decides to release her, despite Jor-El’s warnings. Lara and Clark reunite and she gives him Jor-El’s ring, which contains blue kryptonite. As Clark puts it on, he realizes Zor-El manipulated the whole thing and that blue kryptonite strips him of his powers, enabling Zor-El to take control of the Fortress of Solitude. Meanwhile, Chloe and Lex each discover Lois and Grant have been seeing each other and warn them to stop.

FORMER SUPERGIRL HELEN SLATER GUEST STARS – Clark (Tom Welling) learns Kara (Laura Vandervoort) is in Washington searching for the crystal. Kara is captured after she breaks into the lab and sedated with a kryptonite-infused truth serum. The serum causes her to relive a prior trip to Earth when she followed Clark’s biological mother, Lara (guest star Helen Slater), to the Kent farm. Clark arrives in time to save her but, after searing the machine with heat vision, he also falls victim to the serum and sees what Kara sees: his mother.

LOIS AND CLARK’S SUPERMAN DEAN CAIN GUEST STARS – Chloe (Allison Mack) learns that a doctor, Dr. Curtis Knox (Dean Cain), has been treating meteor-infected people and removing their abilities. Desperate to get rid of her powers, Chloe makes an appointment to see him, unaware that Dr. Knox has a nefarious plan to kill his patients and harvest their organs. Meanwhile, Kara (Laura Vandervoort) cons Jimmy (Aaron Ashmore) into helping her locate her crystal and defies Clark’s (Tom Welling) order to stay on the farm after she discovers its whereabouts. Lana (Kristin Kreuk) sets up secret surveillance of Lex (Michael Rosenbaum).

CLARK MEETS HIS COUSIN KARA KENT AND VISITS JOR-EL – Clark (Tom Welling) and Lois (Erica Durance) discover Kara’s (Laura Vandervoort) spaceship but before they can open it, Kara appears and knocks Lois out. Clark is shocked after Kara tells him she is there to protect baby Kal-El. Despite Kara’s appearance, a despondent Clark decides that without Lana (Kristin Kreuk) there is nothing keeping him in Smallville, and heads to the Fortress of Solitude to begin his training as a superhero. However, Jor-El tells him Kara’s father – Zor-El, who is Jor-El’s brother – is evil and Kara is dangerous, therefore Clark must stay in Smallville to find out why she came to Earth. Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) makes a stunning discovery regarding Lana and Project 33.1.

MARTIAN MANHUNTER RETURNS – When Clark discovers Lionel threatened to kill him unless Lana married Lex, he goes after Lionel to silence him once and for all. Lana tells Lex she is leaving him, and Martian Manhunter makes a return appearance to help Clark stop Lex, who is trying to find the last wraith from the Phantom Zone in order to use its DNA to power his army of super soldiers. Meanwhile, Lois goes to Reeves Dam in search of information about Lex’s secret lab and is brutally stabbed by a security guard. Chloe’s secret power is revealed.

IN A SPECIAL FILM NOIR EPISODE SHOT PARTIALLY IN BLACK AND WHITE, JIMMY SEES WHAT LIFE IN SMALLVILLE WOULD HAVE BEEN LIKE IN THE 1940s – After a secret meeting with Lionel, Lana is shot at the Daily Planet by a mysterious gunman. Jimmy is knocked out while studying photographs of the scene and dreams about a 1940s version of Smallville in which Lana is a femme fatale who orchestrated the murder of her tycoon husband Lex, Clark works at the Daily Planet as a reporter and Lois is a sultry singer working at a bar owned by Lionel. Meanwhile, back in 2007, Clark discovers why Lana married Lex.

TELEVISION’S “WONDER WOMAN,” LYNDA CARTER, GUEST STARS – After Lex discovers Chloe’s mother Moira has the power to control meteor freaks, he develops a drug to wake her from her catatonic state in the asylum, then threatens to kill Chloe unless she uses her power to help him. Clark helps Chloe break into the asylum to rescue Moira and finally get to know her mother.

LEX AND LANA’S WEDDING DAY – On the day of Lex and Lana’s wedding, Lex receives a call from Dr. Langston who threatens to tell Lana the truth about her baby. Lana begins to have second thoughts about marrying Lex and Clark comes to his own realization that he can’t let Lana marry Lex and decides to tell her about his secret. However, no one is prepared for what happens when Lionel Luthor steps in.

JIMMY BREAKS UP WITH CHLOE AND LANA IS ATTACKED BY A STALKER – After receiving a photo of herself dressing in her room, Lana realizes she has a stalker and decides to hide out at a surprising location. Meanwhile, Jimmy breaks up with Chloe because he believes she isn’t truly over Clark, forcing Chloe to take a deep look at her feelings for her best friend.

DC COMICS’ CHARACTER MARTIAN MANHUNTER COMES TO CLARK’S AID -Clark is attacked and wakes up in a mental asylum where the attending physician, Dr. Hudson, tells him he has been there for five years due to his elaborate fantasy that he has alien superpowers. In this new world, Martha is married to Lionel Luthor, Chloe is deemed insane and Lana chose Clark over Lex. Lana begs Clark to agree to Dr. Hudson’s treatments so they can be together, but when a fellow patient named John, A.K.A Martian Manhunter, tells him the good doctor is actually a phantom and he needs to kill him in order to return to reality, Clark must make the toughest decision of his life.

TORI SPELLING GUEST STARS AND TOM WELLING DIRECTS – After Lana confesses to Chloe she has reservations about marrying Lex due to her lingering feelings for Clark, The Daily Planet gossip columnist, Linda Lake, runs a story detailing their exact conversation. Determined to prove she didn’t give the story to Lake, Chloe investigates her fellow co-worker and discovers she has the ability to turn herself into water and uses it to secretly overhear conversations for her column. Meanwhile, Lois begins to suspect Oliver is the Green Arrow and enlists Clark’s help to prove it.

WWE SUPERSTAR BATISTA (“FRIDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN”) GUEST STARS – Clark learns a Zoner has landed in Seattle and slaughtered the entire crew of a working ship. Upon investigation, Clark comes face to face with a horrifying Phantom who sucks the bones out of people. Meanwhile, a patient with the ability to morph into different frequencies escapes from LuthorCorps’ secret experimental lab and seeks revenge on Lex by imprisoning him in another spatial period where he can see and hear everyone but no one can see him.

BOW WOW GUEST STARS AS A KILLER FROM THE PHANTOM ZONE – Clark is thrilled when he learns Raya managed to escape from the Phantom Zone and has come to see him in Smallville. The two grow close and Raya shows Clark how to restore power to the Fortress of Solitude. However, Baern, a killer who also escaped from the Phantom Zone, takes on both Raya and Clark as he seeks revenge for his imprisonment.

CLARK DISCOVERS THE GREEN ARROW’S SECRET IDENTITY – While attending a fundraiser, Lois witnesses the Green Arrow steal a rare diamond necklace off Martha’s neck and vows to find the man behind the costume. Clark does some investigating of his own and discovers Oliver Queen is the Green Arrow and has been stealing from the rich and giving to the poor. Meanwhile, Lex enlists Lionel’s help in testing Lana’s loyalty.

CLARK DEVELOPS A NEW SUPERPOWER – Clark works hard to clean up the destruction done by Zod and develops what he thinks is his first cold. However, he soon discovers it is a new power – super breath! Lois lands a job at The Inquisitor, the local tabloid, and Lana moves in with Lex, who believes someone is following him, which quickly proves to be true after he is kidnapped.
