On the occasion of ‘Smallville’s two-hour “Absolute Justice” event, Fancast invited Erica Durance to preview Lois’ next big scoop and weigh in on the truly super romance currently unfolding on our screens.

After more than eight seasons, Lois Lane (Erica Durance) and Clark Kent (Tom Welling) have finally become a couple on Smallville. TVGuide.com spoke with Durance about the blossoming relationship between these iconic characters and Lois getting to play her own hero.

METROPOLIS HOSTS A COMIC BOOK CONVENTION — DC COMICS’ CHARACTER ZATANNA RETURNS — Clark (Tom Welling) meets Zatanna (guest star Serinda Swan) at a comic book convention, where she tells him her father charmed a copy of the comic book “Warrior Angel” and it holds magical powers. A young man named Stephen (guest star Carlo Marks) steals the comic book and develops super powers, transforming himself into Warrior Angel and saving Chloe (Allison Mack) from a horrible accident. Meanwhile, Lois (Erica Durance) becomes jealous of Clark’s relationship with Zatanna.

NO LOVERS, NO ALLIES, NO DISCIPLES – INTRODUCING DC COMICS CHARACTER THE DARK ARCHER – Oliver’s (Justin Hartley) past comes back to haunt him in the form of The Dark Archer (guest star Steve Bacic), Oliver’s former teacher, who seeks revenge on his student by taking aim at Lois (Erica Durance) and Chloe (Allison Mack). Clark decides to come forward as the Blur to clear his name.

OLIVER TAKES DC COMICS’ CHARACTER SPEEDY UNDER HIS WING — Oliver (Justin Hartley) tries to help a young street girl, Mia AKA Speedy (guest star Elise Gatien), get out of her dangerous life by offering to train her, but Mia double crosses him. Lois (Erica Durance) asks Clark (Tom Welling) to help her land a job as an on-air television host, but the two are shocked when the station wants to hire them as a team.

THE TOYMAN RETURNS AND TAKES OLIVER HOSTAGE — Tess (Cassidy Freeman) forces Oliver (Justin Hartley) to come to a Queen Industries gala to put the Board at ease, but things go awry when the Toyman (guest star Chris Gauthier) shows up with a bomb and a plan to take revenge on Oliver. The Toyman tells Oliver he must confess to murdering Lex or he will blow the place up. Meanwhile, as part of his training, Jor-El gives Clark (Tom Welling) the ability to hear other people’s thoughts.

Against Clark’s (Tom Welling) wishes, Lois (Erica Durance) involves herself in the Red-Blue Blur’s investigation, and winds up getting kidnapped by Corben.

DC COMICS CHARACTER PLASTIQUE RETURNS WITH FRIENDS — Chloe (Allison Mack) returns and begs Clark (Tom Welling) to kill Davis (Sam Witwer), claiming he can no longer keep the beast under control. Tess (Cassidy Freeman) has assembled a team of meteor freaks, including Plastique (guest star Jessica Parker Kennedy), to track down Davis so Clark can kill him. However, things get out of hand once Tess’ team discovers she is double-crossing them.

LOIS LANE IS A SUPERHERO — Lois (Erica Durance) believes that she needs a big story to secure her reputation as a star reporter but the red/blue blur continues to elude her. However, after Chloe (Allison Mack) is mugged, Lois steps in to fend off one of the attackers and uses the opportunity to pretend a new superhero, Stiletto, has come to town and is giving exclusives to Lois. Clark (Tom Welling) is concerned Lois will hurt herself pretending to be a superhero but after he is captured by thugs with kryptonite, Lois steps in to save the day.

IT’S FREAKY FRIDAY FOR CHLOE AND LOIS WHEN DC CHARACTER ZATANNA APPEARS — At Chloe’s (Allison Mack) birthday party, a mysterious magician named Zatanna (guest star Serinda Swan) grants Chloe’s wish to be more like Lois (Erica Durance) and switches the two into each other’s bodies. Zatanna searches for her father’s book of spells so she can conjure up his spirit but not before also granting Clark (Tom Welling) his deepest wish.

TORI SPELLING RETURNS AS LINDA LAKE — Linda Lake (guest star Spelling) returns to Metropolis and threatens to expose Clark’s (Tom Welling) secret unless he promises to give her exclusive information on the red-blue blur so she can become a star reporter again. Refusing to be blackmailed, Clark tells Lois (Erica Durance) his secret and asks her to write his story for The Daily Planet.

ALLISON MACK’S DIRECTORIAL DEBUT — Clark (Tom Welling) finds Tess (Cassidy Freeman) in Lana’s (Kristin Kreuk) ransacked apartment and realizes Lana is missing. Tess tells him Lex is still alive and may have kidnapped Lana and finally reveals the truth about what happened to Lana after she awoke from her Brainiac-induced coma. Meanwhile, Tess breaks into a secret LuthorCorp facility and is shocked at what she discovers.

DC COMICS’ LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES ARRIVE IN SMALLVILLE FROM THE FUTURE TO HELP CLARK STOP BRAINIAC AND THE PERSUADER – The aftermath of Doomsday’s (Sam Witwer) attack on Chloe (Allison Mack) and Jimmy’s (Aaron Ashmore) wedding leaves Clark (Tom Welling) in shock, but before he can search for the kidnapped Chloe, The Persuader (guest star Fraser Aithceson) appears and attacks him. Rokk (guest star Ryan Kennedy), Imra (guest star Alexz Johnson) and Garth (guest star Calum Worthy), also known as The Legion, step in from the future to help vanquish the Persuader and the group realizes Brainiac has taken over Chloe once again. Meanwhile, up at the Fortress, Chloe, as Brainiac, informs Davis he is Doomsday and was created to kill “the other Kryptonian” and destroy the world.

BRAINIAC ERASES CHLOE’S MEMORY — Brainiac begins removing Chloe’s (Allison Mack) memories one by one until the only person she remembers is Davis (Sam Witwer). Clark (Tom Welling) realizes the only way to stop Brainiac from taking over Chloe’s mind is to rebuild the Fortress and ask Jor-El to heal her.

JIMMY TAKES A PICTURE OF CLARK SAVING LOIS — Jimmy (Aaron Ashmore) snaps a picture of Clark (Tom Welling) super-speeding to save Lois (Erica Durance) from a mugger and manages to catch a red and blue blur on film. Jimmy shows it to Tess (Cassidy Freeman) who decides to run it on the front page of the Daily Planet. Clark fears his identity will be discovered so he asks Chloe (Allison Mack) to run interference with Jimmy, but she refuses.

CHLOE TELLS JIMMY HOW SHE FEELS ABOUT CLARK — After they leave their engagement party, Chloe (Allison Mack) and Jimmy (Aaron Ashmore) are abducted by a psychotic jeweler (guest star David Lewis) who was emotionally scarred by his wife’s infidelity and is now kidnapping couples and subjecting them to a kryptonite-enhanced lie detector that shocks them if they lie. The abductor asks Chloe if she is in love with anyone else. Meanwhile, in an effort to find Chloe and Jimmy, Clark (Tom Welling) and Lois (Erica Durance) pose as a couple and are kidnapped themselves then, asked how they feel about each other.

OLIVER FLASHES BACK TO HIS DAYS ON THE ISLAND AND LEARNS MORE ABOUT HIS PARENTS’ DEMISE — Oliver (Justin Hartley) collapses at a charity event and reveals he only has 24 hours to live. Clark (Tom Welling) and Chloe (Allison Mack) call Davis (Sam Witwer) for help but his prognosis is grim. Delirious, Oliver flashes back to when he was stranded on an island and first learned how to use a bow and arrow. He also recalls meeting Tess (Cassidy Freeman) for the first time on that island after she had been kidnapped by a drug runner. Meanwhile, Chloe decides to use her new powers to help save Oliver, shocking Clark.

THE JUSTICE LEAGUE RETURNS TO FIND CLARK AFTER THE COLLAPSE OF THE FORTRESS; THE NEW CEO OF LUTHORCORP COMES TO TOWN — The Justice League, led by the Green Arrow (Justin Hartley), hits the Artic in search of Clark (Tom Welling), who disappeared after the fortress collapsed. The team immediately has a confrontation with the new CEO of Luthorcorp, Tess Mercer (Cassidy Freeman). Meanwhile, Chloe (Allison Mack) is being held prisoner by a suspicious group who has discovered she has a new power, and Clark has been stripped of his powers by Jor-El.

CLARK MEETS THE LAST MEMBER OF VERITAS – Lex is attacked by a cloaked stranger who carves Kryptonian symbols into his chest – a message for Clark. Chloe and Clark investigate and discover one member of the Veritas clan has survived and is hiding in a church. Clark and Lex race to be the first to find this mysterious Veritas member, who holds the key to Clark’s survival.

JIMMY HELPS THE DEPARTMENT OF DOMESTIC SECURITY ARREST CHLOE – Clark desperately searches for Kara and Brainiac is the only one who can reverse Lana’s condition. Clark asks Chloe to check any large power surges in the area, so she breaks into several government computers, setting off alarms. Jimmy is caught between the Department of Security – who threatens him with jail time unless he helps them arrest Chloe – and Lex, who offers to help clear Chloe if Jimmy agrees to be in his debt.

KARA TEACHES CLARK HOW TO FLY – Kara decides to teach Clark how to fly in order to strengthen his chances against Brainiac. However, Brainiac seems to have the upper hand against the super cousins, and some of Clark’s loved ones are caught in the crossfire.

BILLBOARD CHART-TOPPING BAND ONE REPUBLIC PERFORMS AND PETE RETURNS – Kara and Jimmy attend a One Republic concert and one of the roadies turns out to be former Smallville resident Pete Ross. Pete unwittingly chews some kryptonite-laced gum and develops super powers. Clark and Chloe are thrilled to meet up with their old friend but warn him against using his powers in public. However, Lex discovers Pete’s powers and blackmails him into helping break into a Lionel’s safe by threatening to reveal Chloe is a meteor freak.

THE GREEN ARROW AND BLACK CANARY BATTLE IN SMALLVILLE – While secretly working for Oliver, Chloe intercepts one of Lex’s project files, but she is attacked by the Black Canary, a mystery woman with a subsonic cry. Dinah Lance, Black Canary’s alter ego, is a conservative talk show host who is working at the Daily Planet and clashes with Lois. Lex convinces the Black Canary that the Green Arrow and his team are terrorists so she launches an attack on the Green Arrow and Clark. Meanwhile, Lois discovers Olivers secret.

CHLOE REVEALS TO JIMMY THAT SHE IS A METEOR FREAK – Clark returns to Smallville from the Fortress and tells Lana that Kara is gone. Clark tells Lana they should team up to bring Lex down, so she gives him all the information she’s gathered so far, including a report on a man named Adrian, who was infected with an alien substance. Adrian secretly plants a bomb on Chloe and tells Lois if she doesn’t get Lex to admit the truth about his experiments with 33.1, he will detonate the bomb. Chloe, thinking she is about to die, confesses to Jimmy that she is a meteor freak.

LANA ABSORBS CLARK’S POWERS AND GOES AFTER LEX – Kryptonite and high voltage mix during a lightning storm, causing Lana to absorb Clark’s powers. Using her newfound super powers, she breaks into Lex’s safe and steals incriminating evidence which she then delivers to Lois and Grant, demanding they run a story exposing Lex’s secrets. After Grant refuses to use stolen material, Lana decides to take care of Lex herself. Clark tries to stop Lana from killing Lex and a super battle ensues between the two.

CHRISTINA MILIAN GUEST STARS – The residents of Smallville are thrilled when Warrior Angel, a movie based on a comic book, begins shooting in town. However, after the lead actress, Rachel Davenport (guest-star Christina Milian) takes off in stunt car with cut brakes, Clark (Tom Welling) must step in to stop the runaway car. Unfortunately, an obsessed fan witnesses this heroic event and decides Clark is a real life superhero, whose girlfriend Lana (Kristin Kreuk) must be eliminated so Clark can fulfill his destiny. Meanwhile, Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) discovers Lionel (John Glover) at the cabin.

AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL WINNER EVA MARCILLE GUEST STARS – Kara (Laura Vandervoort) desperately wants to make friends and fit in on Earth, but Clark (Tom Welling) tells her to keep a low profile until she can get her powers under control. Despite his warnings, when the “Miss Sweet Corn” beauty pageant comes around, Kara signs up and meets the competition – Tyler (Eva Marcille), Carly (Elisa King) and Tempest (Christine Chatelain) – three meteor-infected vixens who plan to use their powers to steal a treasure map to the hidden Smallville time capsule. After Tyler witnesses Kara using her powers, the girls pretend to be her friends, but are really planning to use her for their devious plan.

CLARK FACES BIZARRO, HIS TOUGHEST ENEMY YET AND SUPERGIRL COMES TO SMALLVILLE – Clark (Tom Welling) confronts Bizarro, the last wraith from the Phantom Zone, and the ensuing fight causes the dam to break and a torrent of water rushes towards the land. Lex (Michael Rosenbaum), having just been arrested for Lana’s (Kristin Kreuk) murder, is submerged under water in a patrol car, but is saved by a mysterious young woman. Lois (Erica Durance) manages to pull Chloe (Allison Mack) to safety but her cousin is pronounced dead at the hospital. The same woman who saved Lex reappears at the Kent farm and is revealed to be Kara Kent (Laura Vandervoort) A.K.A. Supergirl, Clark’s cousin from Krypton.

LEX TRIES TO BUILD AN ARMY OF SUPER SOLDIERS – Lex has been secretly trying to turn Wes Keenan, a military man who supposedly died fighting in Afghanistan, into a “super soldier” by injecting him with DNA pulled from the various meteor freaks he has captured. After a crooked senator threatens to expose his secret labs, Lex dispatches Wes to kill the senator, but Lois witnesses the attack and inadvertently becomes the super soldier’s next target. Meanwhile, Clark tries to convince Lana to leave Lex.

CLARK AND LEX ARE TRAPPED TOGETHER IN A COLLAPSED MINE LINED WITH KRYPTONITE – After Jodi, the wife of a Special Forces soldier, sets off a pipe bomb in one of Lex’s secret labs, Lionel is severely injured and Lex is taken hostage by the enraged spouse. Claiming Lex kidnapped her missing husband, Jodi threatens to blow up the entire lab with Lex inside unless he tells her where her husband is. Clark sets off to rescue Lex, but is immediately felled by the kryptonite lining the earthen walls. Lex and Clark realize the only way they will make it out alive is by helping each other.

WWE SUPERSTARS KANE AND ASHLEY TAKE ON CLARK AND LOIS – Clark and Chloe discover Titan, a Zoner, is the star of a secret fight club whose bloody battles to the death are broadcast on the internet. Lois smells a story and decides to investigate on her own but is captured and forced to participate in the fights with Athena as her first opponent. Clark reveals his powers so he can fight Titan but is stunned when he is thrown in the ring with Lois instead.

MICHAEL ROSENBAUM MAKES HIS DIRECTORIAL DEBUT – Clark and Chloe discover that Tobias, a young man who was blinded in the meteor shower and now has the ability to identify “meteor freaks,” is being used by Lex to locate people with abilities in order to experiment on them. Lana finds out about Tobias’ gift, and fearing he will name Clark as one infected, offers him a cornea transplant in exchange for his silence. However, she is not prepared for Tobias’ shocking news.

RED KRYPTONITE RETURNS AND “BAD-CLARK” KISSES BOTH LOIS AND LANA – After Lois tries on lipstick made with red kryptonite, she becomes overwhelmed with desire for Clark and makes her move. The two share a kiss, transferring the red kryptonite to Clark and his inhibitions immediately shut down causing “bad-Clark” to emerge. Fueled by the red rock, Clark decides to break up Lex and Lana’s wedding dinner and kidnap the bride-to-be.

THE GREEN ARROW CALLS ON THE FLASH, AQUAMAN AND CYBORG TO FORM A LEAGUE OF SUPERHEROES – The Green Arrow (Justin Hartley) sends out for reinforcements and Bart Allan, a.k.a. The Flash (guest star Kyle Gallner), Aquaman (guest star Alan Ritchson) and Cyborg (guest star Lee Thompson Young) return to Smallville to help him take down LuthorCorp’s secret lab. During a break-in at the LuthorCorp facility, Bart is captured and tortured by Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) and Clark (Tom Welling) sets off to rescue him but is felled by meteor rock. An alarmed Chloe (Allison Mack) goes to Oliver for help, and the newly formed “justice league” springs into action to rescue Clark and Bart.

THE ULTIMATE IMMIGRANT – Clark is shocked to discover his neighbor Jed McNally is holding migrant laborers captive and forcing them to work on his farm. Feeling guilty since he sees himself as the ultimate illegal immigrant, Clark seeks help from Martha to allow a young boy and his mother to stay in the country.

THE GREEN ARROW INJECTS HIMSELF WITH A SUPER-DRUG TO BECOME INVINCIBLE – Clark discovers the Green Arrow was shot while trying to save a couple from a carjacking, but Oliver denies he was injured. However, when Oliver starts displaying erratic behavior, Clark and Chloe investigate and discover he is taking a super-drug that causes his body to heal itself but has severe side effects. Meanwhile, Lana makes a shocking discovery that will impact her relationship with Lex.

A FLASHBACK EPISODE REVEALS WHY OLIVER HATES LEX – As teenagers, Lex and Oliver went to the same prep school, where Oliver and his friends bullied Lex and his friend Duncan. Lex eventually turned on Duncan to gain their acceptance, prompting Duncan to throw himself off the roof. Lex and Oliver return to the school for a reunion and are startled when Oliver’s old pals are killed in violent and mysterious accidents that point to Duncan. Meanwhile, Clark sees satellite photos that show four other craters were created the day he escaped from the Phantom Zone, causing him to believe that others may have followed him.

THE ALL-AMERICAN REJECTS PERFORM AT LEX’S COSTUME BALL – Still guilt-ridden about the destruction he caused while he was Zod, Lex throws a charity costume ball for the town and hires the All-American Rejects to perform. Meanwhile, Clark and Chloe pursue a creature who uses male human bodies as potting mix to procreate, and the hunt intensifies after the creature gets hold of Jimmy Olsen. Lois reluctantly agrees to be Oliver Queen’s date to Lex’s ball.

CLARK IS TRAPPED IN THE PHANTOM ZONE WHILE ZOD TAKES OVER LEX’S BODY AND PLOTS TO DESTROY EARTH; JIMMY OLSEN JOINS THE DAILY PLANET – Thrown into the Phantom Zone, a Kryptonian jail created by Jor-El, Clark finds himself without powers and surrounded by revenge-seeking criminals sent away by his father. Meanwhile, having taken over Lex’s body, Zod keeps Lana captive with a demand to sire him an heir and begins his plans to turn Earth into a Krypton-like planet using the alien ship’s hard drive. After Lois and Martha?s plane crashes near the Fortress of Solitude, Jor-El tells Martha how to kill Zod. Back at the Daily Planet, Chloe reunites with an old flame, Jimmy Olsen.

CLARK IS VISITED BY JONATHAN’S GHOST – Clark is stunned when he sees his father’s ghost at the graveyard, but becomes even more confused after Jonathan tells him he must kill Lionel. Meanwhile, Lex develops a vaccine for Fine’s deadly virus, but Fine intervenes and injects him with the vaccine, which causes a shocking reaction in Lex.

MARTHA’S LIFE IS IN DANGER AND ONLY LIONEL CAN SAVE HER – A masked tormentor takes Lionel hostage and orchestrates a series of elaborate games that Lionel must win in order to stay alive. After Clark tells Martha that Lionel knows his secret, she sets out to confront him, but inadvertently becomes a pawn in the tormentor’s game and ends up fighting for her life.

JONATHAN KENT RETURNS – Still distraught over her break-up with Clark, Lana experiments with a dangerous serum that allows her to flat-line and see her deceased parents again. A worried Clark rushes to save Lana from hurting herself, but ends up being injected with the kryptonite-laced serum by a rogue doctor. When Clark flat-lines, he is able to talk to his father, recently deceased Jonathan, who warns him that Lionel knows his secret. Meanwhile, Lionel continues to get closer to Martha.

DC COMICS’ CYBORG COMES TO SMALLVILLE – A sympathetic doctor releases a half-human/half-machine subject named Victor who was being held captive and experimented on by LuthorCorp. While making his escape, Victor is struck by Lana’s car. After watching him walk away without a scratch, Lana calls Clark to investigate. Clark befriends Victor and promises to help him find his girlfriend, but Lex traps Victor and takes him back to LuthorCorp.

CLARK MEETS A FEMALE AVENGER – Clark discovers the new reporter at the Daily Planet, a bespectacled, bumbling woman named Maya, is actually a masked avenger who fights crime at night. Meanwhile, Clark’s bottled-up grief threatens to get the best of him.

LEX AND LANA ARE TAKEN HOSTAGE – The two police officers who witnessed the spaceship land in the meteor shower take Lex and Lana hostage and threaten to kill them unless Lex reveals where he hid the spaceship. While escaping to the panic room in the mansion, Lex takes a bullet meant for Lana. Fearing Lex may bleed to death, Lana asks him to tell the officers the secret location, but he confesses the ship has been missing for weeks. Meanwhile, Clark discovers Lana has been researching the spaceship with Lex and fears she is close to discovering his secret.

LEX IS VISITED BY THE GHOST OF CHRISTMAS FUTURE – Lex is given an envelope with damaging information that will destroy Jonathan’s life and must decide whether he will use it as it will also bring harm to Clark and Martha. Before he can decide what to do, Lex is shot and falls into a coma. He dreams that his mother visits him and shows him the life he could lead if he walks away from his father and LuthorCorp. In this alternate life, Lex is happily married to Lana with a baby on the way. Meanwhile, Chloe asks Clark to use his powers to deliver Christmas presents to needy kids.

CLARK IS EXPOSED TO SILVER KRYPTONITE – Clark is exposed to silver kryptonite, causing him to have paranoid delusions. The silver kryptonite makes him believe that Chloe is going to reveal his secret, Jonathan is scheming against him with Lionel and Lex and Lana are having a secret relationship. Chloe and the Kents frantically search for a cure, but it is Professor Fine who comes to Clark’s rescue – although not without an agenda.

CARRIE FISHER (“Star Wars”) GUEST STARS AS EDITOR OF THE DAILY PLANET – Lana decides to enroll at Metropolis University at the last minute and is forced to join a sorority to find housing at such a late date. However, her new sorority sisters offer her more than a place to crash after they turn her into a vampire and instruct her to kill Clark. Meanwhile, Chloe applies for an internship at the Daily Planet, but the newspaper’s formidable editor may be more then she can handle.

CLARK IS SHOT! – Chloe is warned by Gabriel that he is going to set off a missile and obliterate all of Smallville. Still stripped of his super powers, Clark confronts Gabriel and ends up getting shot. In the hospital, Clark flatlines and his fate is left in Jor-El’s hands. Meanwhile, Lex believes Lionel has the key to open the spaceship.

CLARK VISITS THE FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE AND LANA FINDS A SPACESHIP – Having been transported to the Fortress of Solitude, Clark is confronted by Jor-El, who tells him he cannot return to Smallville, instead he must stay and prepare to save the planet. Also, transported to the Fortress, Chloe is unable to handle the sub-zero temperature and collapses, begging Clark to use his powers to save her. Jor-El forbids him to leave, but finally acquiesces, telling Clark he must return before sunset or there will be dire consequences. Meanwhile, Lana is horrified when she sees two Kryptonian aliens emerge from a spaceship discovered in the remnants of the meteor shower. The two aliens destroy what’s left of the town searching for Kal-El.

GENEVIEVE ATTACKS LANA TO GET THE CRYSTAL – Clark (Tom Welling) must stop the school photographer after he sets up a fake high school and uses his ability to petrify people to kidnap students – including Chloe (Allison Mack) and Lana (Kristin Kreuk) – to keep the glory days of high school going forever. Meanwhile, Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) and Lionel (John Glover) are kidnapped and tortured by the Teagues in an effort to find the Kryptonian artifact.

CHLOE HELPS CLARK LEARN ABOUT HIS SUPERPOWERS AFTER HE LOSES HIS MEMORY – Kevin, a boy who has the power to wipe out people’s memories temporarily, turns his powers on Clark (Tom Welling) and accidentally causes him to have total amnesia. Chloe (Allison Mack) looks after him and teaches him about his superpowers while simultaneously trying to keep them secret. On his trip down memory lane, Clark meets Lana (Kristin Kreuk) and falls in love all over again. Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) takes advantage of the situation and attempts to unravel some secrets.

LEX’S DARK SIDE EMERGES AFTER A KRYPTONITE EXPLOSION – A black Kryptonite explosion splits Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) in two and his evil side – Alexander – is released. Alexander imprisons Lex in the mansion then gives full vent to his evil side – he threatens to evict Lana (Kristin Kreuk) from the Talon unless she becomes his mate, jousts with Lionel (John Glover) , and tries to kill Clark (Tom Welling) and Chloe (Allison mack) when they figure out his secret.

CLARK AND LANA HEAD TO CHINA IN SEARCH OF A KRYPTONIAN CRYSTAL – After Clark (Tom Welling) receives a message from the recently-deceased Dr. Swann, he and Lana (Kristin Kreuk) follow Jason (Jensen Ackles) and Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) to China in search of one of the Kryptonian Crystals. Lana is tortured, causing Isobel to emerge and wreak havoc in her search for the crystal.

CHRIS CARMACK (“THE OC”) GUEST STARS – Clark (Tom Welling) is approached by Metropolis University for a football scholarship and meets Geoff, a former outstanding Smallville High player who gives Clark a taste of the luxurious life as a football star. However, Geoff is revealed to be a meteor freak and is secretly using his abilities to gain an unfair advantage on the field. Clark reconsiders his plans to pursue football in college. Meanwhile, Lana (Kristin Kreuk) gets upset over Lex’s (Michael Rosenbaum) investigation into Genevieve (Jane Seymour). She confronts Lex, who gives her a reason to reconsider her trust for the Teagues.

ALICIA RETURNS TO SMALLVILLE FOR CLARK – Claiming to be cured, Alicia Baker (Sarah Carter) is released from Belle Reve hospital and comes to Smallville to rekindle her relationship with Clark (Tom Welling). Initially skeptical, Clark finds himself enjoying dating someone who knows his secret, but when she pushes for more, he hesitates, causing her to use red Kryptonite on him. Clark, under the influence of red Kryptonite, whisks Alicia off to get married in Las Vegas. Meanwhile, Lana (Kristin Kreuk) ponders whether or not to take her relationship with Jason (Jensen Ackles) to the next level in order to win him back. Lex (John Glover) is unimpressed with Lionel’s (John Glover) claims of being a changed man.

JANE SEYMOUR GUEST-STARS – Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) is accused of killing a young woman and suspects that Lionel (John Glover) is behind it. Lionel, whose liver has miraculously healed, claims to be a new man and aids Clark (Tom Welling) in finding the person responsible for framing Lex. Meanwhile, Jason’s (Jensen Ackles) mother, Genevieve (Jane Seymour), comes to town to visit her son and his new girlfriend. Jason suspects her motives and worries that his seemingly accidental meeting with Lana (Kristin Kreuk) in Paris might have been all a set up by his mother.

DC COMIC VILLIAN MXYZPTLK TRIPS UP SMALLVILLE – Chloe (Allison Mack) is drawn into an underground gambling ring at school run by foreign exchange student Mikail Mxyzptlk (guest star Trent Ford) and loses her savings on a football game after Mxyzptlk uses his powers to control all the players including Clark (Tom Welling). When Chloe discovers Mxyzptlk’s secret, he kidnaps her and threatens to kill her unless Clark throws the championship game. Meanwhile, Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) threatens Mxyzptlk with deportation unless he uses his powers for Lex’s benefit.

THE FLASH SPEEDS INTO SMALLVILLE – After Jonathan’s (John Schneider) wallet is stolen, Clark (Tom Welling) super-speeds after the thief but is stunned when he cannot catch him. The thief, Bart, a.k.a. The Flash, later shows up at the farm and tries to talk Clark into leaving Smallville for a life on the road together, flexing their super powers. Meanwhile, Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) buys a priceless framed manuscript with Kryptonian symbols and Clark learns that it contains a mysterious hidden map. However, when Bart steals the manuscript from Lex, he inadvertently puts Clark’s life in danger and must make the decision whether to save Clark or himself.

PLASTIC SURGERY HITS SMALLVILLE – Clark (Tom Welling) faces a surprising new foe in the form of a shy high school girl (guest star Brianna Lynn Brown) who turns to plastic surgery to enhance her looks and boost her popularity. However, things go awry when she discovers that her Kryptonite – enhanced beauty causes harm to anyone she kisses – and she decides her next victim will be Lana (Kristin Kreuk). Meanwhile, Jason (Jensen Ackles) and Lana continue to hide their relationship from Clark.

LOIS LANE HITS SMALLVILLE AND CLARK FLIES! – Clark (Tom Welling) returns to Smallville re-programmed as Kal-El. Intent on fulfilling his destiny, Kal-El takes to the skies to steal a powerful Kryptonite crystal. Determined to save her son, Martha (Annette O’Toole) turns to Dr. Swann’s emissary, Bridgette Crosby, and learns about a surprising new form of Kyptonite. Meanwhile, Lois Lane (Erica Durance) comes to town to investigate the murder of her cousin Chloe (Allison Mack). Also, Lana (Kristin Kreuk) returns from Paris with a new attitude and a new boyfriend, Jonathan (John Schneider) lies in a coma, and Lionel (John Glover) faces a grim new life in prison.
